How ties are broken
A tie in the pool standings is resolved by calculation under BCMBA Rule 29.01. There is no tiebreaker game. The criteria are applied in order until the tie is broken:
- A team that forfeited a game played between the tied teams is automatically eliminated from the tie.
- Head-to-head record among the tied teams.
- Fewest runs allowed per defensive inning, counting only games between the tied teams.
- Most runs scored per offensive inning, counting only games between the tied teams.
- The same two ratios again, across all pool games.
- Coin toss.
Where three or more teams are tied and one criterion separates only some of them, the remaining criteria are recalculated from the games involving all of the originally tied teams, as the rule requires.
